Singapore, Nostalgia & a Merry Christmas

So the gig in Singapore was pretty cool, considering we did get quite fucked over on the organizing side of things, but going on stage and rocking it out was pretty damn fun. My new mask works perfectly in that I can see and play my bass and sing with ease, but a quick glance at the photos and I look like those bad guys with hoods in LOTR, narghuls or something. It's actually quite scary.

The second Triple 6 Poser were off the stage, me n Vanessa made our way to the bus station which was at a Thai mall.Made our way back to KL, slept, woke up, met Goz and bought the Star Wars & Back to the Future trilogy on DVD.

I completely forgot the impact of those movies until I rewatched them. The second 'Star Wars' was emblazoned on the screen and that fucking score, I swear I couldn't stop myself crying for some unbeknownst reason. I was six again, and life was pure unadulterated fun. And Back to the Future, goddamn. Part one is still one of my favourite movies of all time, if not the favourite. Scorcese, Tarantino, Copolla, these guys all introduced me to the wonderful world of filmmaking, and made me want to be a filmmaker, but Zemeckis, Spielberg and Lucas showed me the magic of film, and there's the difference. Star Wars is fun. Back to the Future is fun, and there's nothing wrong with a bit of fun once in a while.

The next day I woke up at 5 in the morning to send my dad to the airport, then to an excruciating wedding.

I don't like going to weddings much. Or any traditional Malay social function. It's moments like these when the fact that I'm completely different to your average Malay guy is painstakingly obvious, and I don't like it. Forget white man in Harlem, this is the real deal. Thankfully, my girlfriend came to rescue me and dropped me off home.

That night, sat with Saiful and Paul, we tried to figure out the Ramones christmas song we were supposed to cover for a christmas compilation, when I started fooling around with a riff Paul wrote and started singing some stupid lyrics. After a hearty laugh, we decided to ditch the Ramones song, because we'd end up just doing a straight cover, and whilst we all love the Ramones, everyone else was given the opportunity to fuck around with known classics, whereas we were a punk band asked to cover a punk band. Hopefully they'll let us record it. Heheh.

And now? Now I've just finished some stupid copy about fish and I'm off to meet Saiful and Abang Rom for some tea, even though I'm knackered beyond repair. For the past two mornings I've woken up to nosebleeds and it doesn't feel right.

There may be something wrong with me.
